QUICK STATS

Start End Lodging Miles $ Spent Weather
West Yellowstone, MT West Yellowstone, MT Church (1st Baptist) 0 $69 Sunny, Warm

This morning when I woke up, I didn't feel very good.  My head felt kind-of like a constant head rush and my tummy felt a little funny.  I just wanted to go back to bed..but we were supposed to meet Sathish at 9am.

Nathan got up and made me special cinnamon, nutmeg, oatmeal pancakes with the ingredients he found in the church kitchen.  What a wonderful hubby!  Eating the pancakes helped me feel a lot better.  Maybe I was just hungry??

After breakfast we headed over to the Youth Hostel where Sathish was staying to meet up with him and head into the park.

Today was a fantastic day!  We saw tons of animals, many amazing hot springs, geysers, waterfalls, and beautiful mountain views, and we even got to get a close up look of a forest fire.  Since visiting Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, I've learned a lot about how healthy fires are for forested areas.  It was a little odd to be happy about seeing this fire, but since learning more about them, I'm starting to be able to appreciate the order and cycle of nature and view with wonder the way that God created plant life.

We took 14 videos today and lots of pictures!  I combined and edited the videos, so now there's only 3 relatively short ones to watch. :-)

We had a fabulous time today getting to know Sathish, enjoying his generosity, and seeing the beauty and diversity of Yellowstone National park.

I will tell just one quick story, then I'll leave it to our videos and pictures to tell the rest.  So it was very, intensely sunny today, but not too hot.  Because of the sun, we took along some chapstick.  After lunch, we got into the car and I went to put on some chapstick.  To my surprise, it had to turned completely to liquid, and when I opened it, it shot out and got all over my pants!  The ENTIRE tube of chapstick got on my pants!  Fortunately, I was wearing shorts underneath, so I took the pants off.  I don't even know how to clean chapstick out of clothing.  Does anyone have any pointers??  (Nathan says this picture looks like I peed my pants...)

I hope you enjoy our videos and pictures from Yellowstone (see today's photo album to see more pictures)!

Hey April, it is pretty cool keeping up with your adventures. Just a quick note about your inquiry on how to get the chapstick mess removed from your pants. Chapstick is made of a lot of different oils. You need a petroleum based cleaner to remove all of the oily/greasy residue. I use Lestoil for those types of stains, but it comes in a large bottle and it doesn't take much to do the job. Hopefully there is something else similar out there that can help in cleaning up the mess. Good Luck! Love you guys and glad that you are having such a wonderful time.
