QUICK STATS

Start End Lodging Miles $$ Spent Weather
West Yellowstone, MT West Yellowstone, MT First Baptist Church n/a $26

After our grand tour of the north loop with Sathish took all of yesterday, we decided to spend another day in West Yellowstone just to work on the blog and bikes. I had the usual maintenance of cleaning and oiling the chain, adjusting the brakes, and trying to fine tune the derailleurs (fussing with the way the gears shift). April went to work on the articles for the blog and editing and uploading the videos.

For lunch we took a break and wend over to Ernie's Sandwich Shop. April got the Ernie burger, which wasn't a burger at all, but a combination of different deli meats and cheeses, and I had the Yellowstone Club. Both sandwiches were pretty good, but as with everything else in town, a bit overpriced.

We pretty much did nothing but work on our "chores" until dinner. I started making dinner from some red beans and rice we found in the church's leftover food from the summer programs. And we decided to make some brownies and get ice cream and have a bit of a party.

While I cooked dinner, April went to the store to get some ice cream and eggs. We invited Ed and Brenda to join us for warm brownies and ice cream after dinner (and of course they said yes). Dinner was good, but the smell of baking brownies was better.

I realized about half-way through the baking time that I hadn't followed the high- altitude instructions. But it turned out to be ok. They came out awesome anyway. We all enjoyed sitting around and talking and eating our yummy dessert.

Then it was time to clean up and go to bed. After such a long rest period, we were both feeling ready to get on the road again, though we were definitely not looking forward to leaving the comfy mattresses behind!

Our time at the church has been great and we are refreshed and ready for the road ahead. I can only imagine what adventures we'll have going through Yellowstone and the Tetons. Thanks Ed and Brenda and the First Baptist Church of W. Yellowstone!! You guys are great!

Oh, and I almost forgot, we learned how to receive mail on the road. So now we can get all the cookies and granola and letters everyone has been wanting to send us...hint, hint ;-)

All you have to do is address your mail like this:

Nathan and April Reinhard
General Delivery
[City], [State] [Zip]

And then tell us you sent it so we know to stop at that post office and pick it up. We'll list some cities and post offices soon!

Thanks for reading!!
