We're here! We got to our starting point, Astoria, OR, at 9:30 pacific time tonight (11:30 central), and we're staying at the Rivershore Motel. We've only been here a few minutes, and we've managed to lock ourselves out of our room, get a new key (now we have three), then get back to our room just in time to get a phone call from the front desk telling us we left our paperwork in the lobby. O boy...
Nathan's parents drove us to the airport this morning at 7:00am, and we've been traveling alllllllll day. Our crazy flight schedule took us from Indiana, to Chicago, to Arizona, and THEN to Oregon. Then, once in Oregon, we took a three hour bus ride from the airport to Astoria. So, my tummy feels kind-of funny, Nathan's back is a little sore, and both of us are just ready to go to bed.
Tomorrow, we're going to go hang out at the Astoria Bicycle Repair Shop with Ian and wait for our bikes to be delivered by FedEx. Even though the bike shop is closed tomorrow, Ian said he would be happy to come to the store and wait for our bikes - what a great guy! So, I assume we'll be getting to know him pretty well, and I'm hoping he can share some good tips about riding across the country with us.
We made a quick video to document our arrival tonight. Warning: don't expect too much; we're tired.
We also took some pictures of us at the hotel, but Nathan's already in bed, and I don't remember all the steps to upload them, so you'll have to look in our "Photos" page to see them. Hopefully we'll get them posted on the 16th.
This will be our last night in a bed for a wwhhiillee (we think), so we're planning on sleeping in tomorrow and enjoying it :-)
